The aim of the Massachusetts Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) is to ensure that residents of the Commonwealth have access to high-quality student financial aid information and services. Furthermore, promoting and enhancing their access to higher education and giving them the chance to improve their lives and contribute to the social and economic advancement of the state.

Eligibility Criteria For Massachusetts High Demand Scholarship Program

Students who want to win the Scholarship should read the eligibility criteria carefully:

  • Undergraduate students are eligible for the Massachusetts High Demand Scholarship Program.
  • Legal residents of Massachusetts are eligible only. 
  • Students who want to apply for the Massachusetts High Demand Scholarship Program lived in Massachusetts at least a year before the start of the school year.
  • Students must have a 3.0 GPA in their previous academics or an equivalent percentage is preferred. 
  • Students must have submitted a financial assistance application using the standard Federal Student Assistance Application (FAFSA).

Massachusetts High Demand Scholarship Reward

Scholarships will be given to state university students according to their enrollment status, subject to funding availability:

 Full-time Students Reward

  • Students who will study at UMass will get a reward amount starting from $6,500 annually or $3,250 for the semester.
  • Students who will study at States University will get a reward amount starting from $5,500 annually or $2,750 per semester.
  • Students who study at Community colleges will get a reward amount starting from $4,000 annually or $2,000 for each semester.

 Part-time Students Reward

  • Students who will study at UMass will get a reward amount starting from $3,250 annually or $1,625 for a semester.
  • Students who will study at States University will get a reward amount starting from $2,750 annually or $1,375 per semester.
  • Students who study at Community colleges will get a reward amount starting from $2,000 annually or $1,000 for each semester.
